# Storefront nudges

> Proactive suggestions about your storefront setup and merchandising, sent when something needs your attention to keep selling.

<Note title="Beta">
  Storefront nudges are in beta. What triggers a nudge and how they're delivered may
  evolve before general availability.
</Note>

A **nudge** is a suggestion your storefront sends you when something needs your
attention — a problem to fix before it costs you demand, or a setup step standing
between you and selling. You don't request nudges; they arrive when there's
something worth acting on.

Every nudge tells you what's wrong and how to fix it. You'll never receive one
that doesn't need action from you.

## What triggers a nudge

Nudges fire on setup and health signals such as:

* **A sales agent looks unreachable.** If one of your inventory sources stops
  responding, you get a first notice, a follow-up if it stays down, and eventually
  a recommendation to deactivate it so it stops showing as available to buyers.
* **Setup is incomplete.** For example, a storefront missing its default
  settlement currency can't go live — a nudge tells you what's left to do.

As more storefront intelligence comes online, nudges will cover more merchandising
and setup opportunities.

## Where you see them

Nudges are delivered as storefront notifications:

* **In-app feed and email** — always.
* **Slack** — if you've enabled storefront notifications there.

Because a nudge means something needs your attention to keep selling, these are
always-on operational alerts rather than an opt-in digest.
